Sony Vaio E Series - Core i3 second generation review

Sony Vaio laptops define style that is why even with a high price tag than other laptops, most people lean towards buying a Sony Vaio laptop. Now I’m a big fan of the Sony laptops in general. In the past, when i had to purchase my first laptop, I was given the alternative of Sony but I chose a different path and purchased a laptop with more resources but with cheaper price tag. But after some time it started giving me problems like flickering screen, poor image quality and so on. So I thought cheaper isnt always better and got a  Sony VAIO laptop which  I have worked on countless hours till now without any problem whatsoever. I think Sony laptops are bit pricey because they are sturdy and can withstand quite a bit to rugged use.

This particular laptop is a pretty amazing one. As I said before, its true sony laptops are a bit high on price, but you get what you pay for and nothing compares to quality and performance this laptops offers over others.

It also comes with fairly good specifications like

  • Intel Core i3-3120M Processor (2.5 GHz)
  • 4 GB DDR3 RAM
  • 320 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
  • 14-Inch Screen
  • Intel HD Graphics 4000
  • Windows 8
  • 6-hour battery life

As I stated in my other review of HP Pavilion G6-2237us , Core i3 processor combined with Intel HD 4000 Graphics is more than capable for basic day to day work with little bit of fun and multimedia experience. However the lack of dedicated graphics card will surely lead to choppy gaming experience while playing some latest games even at lowest settings. Also 320 GB storage may prove to be little less when storing your favorite media files.  Although you can use external hard drive and connect it via usb to get extra storage space.

The 14-inch widescreen display includes an LED backlight that helps ensure a bright display with lower power consumption for improved battery life combined with fast, and fluid Windows 8 operating system. The keyboard is also LED backlight creating a pleasant glow, framing the individual keys and illuminating the lettering to make it even easier to find the right keys.

It also comes with built-in stereo speakers featuring Clear Phase technology for crisp audio with other features like built-in webcam, 3 USB 2.0 ports and 1 USB 3.0 port. Standard 5300 mAh battery can provide up to 6.0 hours of battery life at default brightness which is great  backup time considering  you wouldn’t run out of battery while travelling.
